RP673 Site Health handbook

This project, to produce a health handbook for construction workers and their supervisors was commissioned by Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA) with funding from the DTI.

The book sets out the most common causes of ill health amongst construction workers and provides practical advice on health issues and long term effects. With straightforward language and meaningful illustrations it explains both the hazards and the control measures for site workers, site supervisors and their managers.

In addition, a CD PowerPoint presentation provides a summary of the guidance in the form of toolbox talks. The publications will help raise site worker awareness of appropriate site procedures by showing how the potential causes of ill health can be reduced and controlled using common sense and good practice on site.
